Griller's, Pearson and Wabash, Chicago IL

Griller's is a slightly more upscale fast food joint located in the Gold Coast. J's Dawg 'n Burger is up the street from Griller's, but J's greasy facade is a little frieghtening for some, and mainly money saving locals go there, while everyone else in the neighborhood looking for some good fast food goes to Griller's.

Toppings are: tomatoes, onions, relish, pickle wedge, jalepenos, mustard and celery salt.

J's Dawg 'n Burger, State and Pearson Chicago IL

J's Dawg 'n Burger is a pit of grease, but they have a surprisingly tasty hot dog for sale. One dog with everything and a bottle of water costs around 3 bucks. Not bad for good food, and that meal was only about 200 calories. This dog had cucumber instead of pickle, or maybe it was fresh pickle, but in any case it had a fresher taste than I'd expected.


Toppings are: onions, relish, wide cucumber slices, mustard, jalepenos, and tomatoes.

Portillo's, Elk Grove Village IL 60007

The Portillos Hot Dog has been a staple in my family for many decades. It was rumored to be the best...we'll see.

Portillo's Hot Dog: Vienna Beef, poppy-seed bun, pickle wedge, mustard, tomato, jalepenos, relish, and chopped onions.
